Ford Prefect from Douglas Adams' "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"

He's had a couple different character designs in my head, depending on when I was reading the book.
-The very first time I read them back in middleschool/sort of beginning of highschool, he was your pretty average bloke really. And I pictured him in plaid for whatever reason.
-After watching the BBC production from the 80s--his style became a little more eccentric. Poofier hair and a much quirkier fashion sense (ala David Dixon---but in my head, Ford's voice will always be that of Geoffrey McGivern because he played him perfectly and I love him for it).
-Ok, so a few days ago I was watching Top Gear....the special where they traveled across Vietnam on motorbikes. And Richard Hammond said something that just completely hit me in the face with the 'Ford'-ness of it.
(Jeremy Clarkson shows up at their rendez-vous point and Richard says: "D'you want a beer?--we've drunk 'em." The delivery was spot on). Also, he's quite short which is how I've always imagined Ford--they might not have entirely the same personality, but the similarities are enough for me to pretend.

So...yeah.

(also, I've really only gotten into Top Gear recently but holy cow is Richard adorable. I didn't think I'd fall for him at first but, jeez. Hard to avoid.)
(And I love James May, he's cute too, in his own way)
